Hawaii

The trip began with with a client meeting, planning their wedding day here in Hawaii. Wednesday we DJ’d a Middle School Dance at Central Middle School, then 3 more client meetings, a Wedding Professionals meeting at the Wedding Café. A very busy start to my trip.

It was fun running into people that I have met over the years and feeling like I had just been “away” for awhile. I was also fortunate to reconnect with some folks I met in Vegas earlier this year.

The first Project Grad night started Friday with Roosevelt High School and was a great time however a very long night. We provided music for dancing, interactive games, video games and more. The kids had a great time.

We spent a couple of slow days at the beach and a pool, which is always fun. I really enjoyed spending time with Dave Louis and his family. Several day were spent loading in new music for Dave and configuring his rig with the Denon 2500HD.

Mine and Shelley’s anniversary was May 31st. but Shelley had to remain home in Louisville to cover an event we had were the client was feeling very insecure it seemed so we delayed her trip by one day so that we could put her at ease. As a result of that I was able to celebrate my 1st anniversary with a lot of the folks that were actually at the wedding in Hawaii last year. We had great food and a great time hanging out. We even continued the Mix Game that I shared with some of the guys in Vegas. It was a blast!

June 1st my family arrived on the Island. It was a nice time in that they got to see Dave’s Mom and Dad before they left the next day. Good to have the whole gang together again. June 2nd we took Dave’s parents to the airport and initiated the “Surprise”. Shelley had no idea that we arranged 2 days for just her and I in Waikiki to actually celebrate our Honeymoon and anniversary. It was a well executed plan and she had no idea.

While there we looked up an old friend I was in the Air Force and a band with. He is a surf instructor. It was great catching up with him and hanging out. He took good care of us.

We are getting ready to head back to Hawaii to DJ and entertain for Project Graduation Season.

Congratulations Michael and Nicole!

Last night we had the pleasure of DJing a very nice couples wedding reception. Michael and Nicole were a pleasure to work with and we wish them a very happy life together.

As an added bonus there were friends of ours in attendance which even added to the event for us. The selection of music was more rock and roll than most weddings we do but that meant we go to play a lot of classic rock that we wouldn’t normally get to play at a wedding. That was a nice change for us.

There were some young guest in attendance that had us playing more of the current music as well. We even let them guest DJ. They had a lot of fun interacting with us.

So to Michael and Nicole, all the best from Sound Entertainment!

Bowen Elementary School Celebrates 40 Years

April 16, 2010 was the recognized birthday of Bowen Elementary School. The celebration included cake and ice cream as well as entertainment from Sound Entertainment DJs.

The event included some new games as well as some old favorites like the limbo and hula hoops. There was a lot of dancing and singing as well, including an interesting (the best way I can describe it) version of Happy Birthday by the Principal Steve Tyra.

There were over 700 people in attendance and it was a fast paced, high energy night. Sound Entertainment has been providing fun for Bowen for 11 years and the students, parents, and staff always have a great time.

Bowen’s PTA puts on most of these events and their effort is greatly appreciated by everyone. Whether it’s a Family Fun Night, Drive-In Movie Night, the YMCA, or field day the Bowen PTA and their many volunteers know how to do it right.

We look forward to seeing everyone where ever we might be so make sure if you see us you come up and say hello!

GOT KIDS! In Elementary School?

Sound Entertainment has been providing family friendly entertainment for Jefferson County and Oldham County Schools for almost 15 years.

It is not your typical school event where you either sit and watch someone else perform or you drop your kids off and watch them run around. Sound Entertainment Family Nights are just that, The family is involved! Not only the child’s family but the entire school family, Teachers, Staff, and the Principal.

Better yet, these events are not volunteer burdened. Sound Entertainment runs the entire event and can even help with promotion. All the PTA needs to do is order and serve the pizza. Simple.

Interactive, kid appropriate music in a non stop format that everyone will love.
