Happy Fourth of July

Thank you to everyone that has served our country to give us the freedoms we enjoy every day.

It’s nice to help others create memories

I was fortunate to help plan and perform at my sisters wedding this month. While she wanted a laid back stress free day (and we were able to give her and her husband just that) I was also able to show her that these things take planning and preparation. They just don’t happen because you say it is how you want it.

Everything went well and ran like clock work. So much so we were even ahead of our timeline at many points in the evening. That doesn’t happen often when so many people are involved.

The other vendors were great to work with. The location was nice and a good time was had by all. It was a special day for me because I was able to perform in front of so many friends and family.

The very next day we were off to Greeneville TN. for a 5 day networking and convention/vacation trip. The entire family in tow minus my oldest who was also in TN. but at a 4 day concert. I don’t know why she would have chose that over us.

While things went smoothly it seems the 3 of them all had to be sick. Sinus issues, double ear infections, congestion. It was crazy! We spent more time running to Walgreen’s than anything else I think.

Everything was fast paced and fun and it was good catching up with so many friends.

Next up…Pool Parties, and a bunch of them. Lets do this.

Week Three and Home Again

So to finish off May and cover the first week of June and hopefully stay caught up I will add this to the record.

My annual working visit to Hawaii ended with a Planning meeting for a wedding and a Project Graduation of almost 500 Kids at Dave and Busters. The event was very interactive and entertaining and they all had a great, safe time. The planning session was a nice meeting and it is nice to see other DJs operate at such high levels.

Flew back home on the 30th in time for my 4th wedding anniversary on the 31st to an amazing and understanding woman and my best friend. Anyone that knows our story knows that this relationship was unique from the very start and because of all the unusual details, even more amazing. I love you Shelley Frank.

Being home was like opening the flood gates. A show at Schaffner elementary on Thursday, Bowen Elementary on Friday, video and montage work Saturday and Sunday for Bowen’s Fifth Grade Graduation. Monday was the Graduation program. Tuesday at Gilmore Lane Elementary.

Today (Thursday) is Baby G’s second birthday. Time to party!

Taking Friday off and back to it on Saturday. Hawaii is beautiful but I missed my family, so it is nice to be home.

Week Two

We are still in a very busy time, this week included a timeline workshop, a Middleschool dance at Central Middleschool and a wedding this Saturday. In between is prep and planning along with odds and ends to get the office on track.

First Weekend

Just finished our first busy weekend. We started Thursday evening with a wedding at an outdoor location. It was an amazing evening inspite of the sprinkler system going off.

Next up two project graduations Friday and Saturday night. Over 900 kids combined and 25 hours of non-stop entertainment. Both parties were great!

Sunday was a day of rest and beach time, reloading for the coming week.

May Mayhem

I love when May rolls around. It is this time of year that we take our show on the road and the destination during this month is always Hawaii. Now I know I run the risk of sounding as if I am bragging but be assured I am not.

You see this trip means we will be doing many Project Graduations. Every year for the last 6 it has been a huge honor to entertain so many of these High school graduates knowing we are keeping them safe on one of the milestone moments in their lives.

Along with the Project Graduations are a few weddings and Middle school dances thrown in. It is a very busy month, and it doesn’t hurt that it is on this beautiful island with all these wonderful people I live and work with. Blessed is what it is.

This year however my family is not with me and I miss them. So we do our job and get home to them. It is really a crazy month but all apart of the experience of this awesome business.

If you love what you do, it will never seem like work.

IT IS STILL MARCH

Well there are times when time stands still. March is one if them.

Louisville is remaining #1 seed and we are heading to the Elite 8.

#GoCARDS

March Madness

Well the video was a success and everyone was happy. We completed an awesome Father/Daughter Dance as well as a school event and a Fundraiser for our pool.

So now we have time to relax just a bit and watch BASKETBALL!

I love this time of the year.

Video Update

So in working with a video project one would try and gather as much information as possible in order to capture the client’s vision for said project.  Having said that, sometimes things like time and speaking to all the parties involved just are not possible and this is what makes this kind of work both challenging and rewarding.

Most times I am given a basic idea of what we are doing, maybe it is an introduction to something, or an outro for something, sometimes we are documenting an event, doing a commercial, or maybe something as simple (I say tongue planted firmly in cheek) as a photo montage, but whatever the case it is typically a general idea with a few parameters I must meet and then a lot of me tying it all together.

How cool is that? That someone knows you and trusts you enough to let you guide their project. I must say I am humbled every occasional that it happens. I do however sit on the edge of my seat until I hear the final outcome.

In this case, another project well received. I am truly honored to work for the companies and clients I do and that they place their trust in me.

And in other news…

The adoption of my 12 year old son was finalized today. It was really a paperwork issue but none the less it is done. We are all very excited.
