February

It’s all about video editing in the month of February. Sometimes a long tedious process, however the end product is always worth it.

Super Bowl Sunday

I don’t even like golf. 😉

Mixed emotions today. Typically I would have just landed in Vegas by this time. For the last 14 years (or maybe 15) I have attended the MBLV DJ convention. I have met some of the best people there over the years and it had turned into a family reunion of sorts. I certainly will miss that.

I also have learned a great deal attending this show that allows me to return and provide better service and options for my clients. This year though, with the addition of Baby G, traveling is a bit more tricky and I have other travel obligations during the year. So while I will miss being in Vegas I will certainly enjoy my time with my boys this week.

So, Super Bowl Sunday…..well my #CARDS won today! And I may be having Sushi later with one of my business associates and DJ friends from MN. that is coming through town. Who know there might even be a game on TV we could watch. I hope it is interesting.

In any case it is nice to have down time with the family!

Happy New Year!

Wow here we are 2013. Things are moving fast it seems. January has been a month of retooling, rebranding, revitalizing, and more. Our focus this year is to get all our content moving together to make it easier for our clients and friends to find us in the various ways they use in the digital world.

So from updating websites to twitter feeds and blogs, the idea is they all move together making it easier to update and to be more consistent. We shall see how that all goes.

January was full of fun as well. Family time was the focus over the Holidays and we have carried that over into the New Year. Great start so far.

We were again back at our Home School, Bowen Elementary for a family fun night. We always look forward to our visits to Bowen. There is always hundreds of people and lots of fun!

We were also at KCD for their winter Homecoming party. This is a great group of kids and another of those parties I look forward to because the group is so much fun.

There was also a Sweet 16 Party in the January mix. Hannah and Erin shared a birthday party and it was amazing. Many of the kids from KCD were also at this event so it was nice seeing them again. There was also a large group of kids that attended Bowen back in grade school. Not sure how I feel about seeing them grown up, but really it was pretty cool.

So in closing, have a Happy and Prosperous New Year and we hope to see you around.

2012 Tour

So tonight I am home while the last MW Party for 2012 is happening in SF, Ca.

I wish I was there to see it all wrap up but I am glad to be home. My last two parties were in London Ontario and Toronto Ontario, this makes me an International DJ now, lol. It is pretty cool.

This year I have DJ’ed in Hawaii, NY, NJ, MN, NE, IN, AL, KY, 2X in MO., OKC, London, and Toronto. Not a bad bit of work.

Time to rest and recover and enjoy my time with my family before it all starts up again!

Still on Tour

My parties were extended so now I am in Canadia. Just finished tonight’s party in London. Tomorrow we head to Toronto. I really love what I do!

Mixing Music

Spent a week in NY and NJ mixing music for the Holiday Tour 2012. Had a great time putting this together. This was my 10th year.

It’s always an interesting time sorting out what to use and what not to use and what goes where and for how long. It is not easy trying to create 4 sets of music that will be used at 40+ parties across the country.

After completing the sets we spent time with the good people of Pinto Novelty. They took us on a tour of Brooklyn. This was 3 weeks before Hurricane Sandy changed everything in that area. Much of what I saw is now gone. So sad.

Greta’s Bat Mitzvah

The evening started with everyone wearing masks. While it wasn’t a costume party and was close to Halloween it was more of a masquerade feel that the kids and adults all went along with.

This was strictly a kids party and a dancing group for sure. We didn’t play a single game all night, they just danced! Of course we got the adults involved because everyone was having a good time and enjoying themselves.

I love what I do and parties like this just reinforce that feeling.

Mazel Tov Greta and family!

Trying to keep up!

Now I understand why people just use websites……..they never have to change them often.

Again my apologies for falling behind on my updates, I will continue to try and do better. Catching up quickly I can say June was a blur of Graduation events, Bar Mitzvah’s and a wedding. July is always a quiet month for us but we managed a movie night, Bat Mitzvah, an American Bandstand Night and several pool parties. That’s pretty quiet, for us.

August has us working on Video projects for some Mitzvah’s coming up and a few back to school projects as well. We will be again supporting The 2012 6th Annual Hike for Hosparus that will take place on August 25 at Bowman Field and just finished a Splash Party at Elk’s Lodge 8.

Sound Entertainment is dedicated to making our clients events memorable and entertaining. We focus on the clients needs and ideas from meeting with them personally. This allows us to create a unique and personal experience. We would be honored to serve you at your event.

May 2012

Congratulations to David Hemmer on his Bar Mitzvah. It was a pleasure celebrating another great event with your family. The night was filled with dancing and a few surprises. What a fun family!

I left Mother’s Day for my annual work trip to Hawaii. It was a very busy time. I MC’d 3 Project Graduations and DJ’d 2 others. I also had the privilege of DJing 3  Weddings as well. It was a very busy time and a lot of fun over 2 1/2 weeks. This was my fifth year of having the privilege of DJing this trip and had an absolute blast hanging out with all of my friends that live there. Looking to get over there again just to hang out and not work. We shall see.

Sound Entertainment was asked to DJ a birthday party that was pretty unique in that it was a celebration of a collection of folks turning 40, 50,60, and 70. Pretty cool! Music was all over the place and Shelley put it all together. Everyone had a good time.

May 25th Sound Entertainment produced Bowen Elementary Schools 5th Grade Graduation. This was our 10th year I believe and it is a major production including Video screens and video, music edits, photo montage, time line, sound, and of course setting it all up and tearing it all down.

Shelley was in charge again this year making sure it all got setup and ran smoothly. Of course she did an amazing job. I took care of all the editing before I left town and with the help of the Bowen staff it all came together nicely. We look forward to next year.

Sing, Sing, Sing!

So it has been about 12 years since we were in the Karaoke business. It was both exciting and intimidating to get back on that ride after so long. In addition to that we added a computer into the mix that came with it’s own set of issues and blessings.

We are going to do this again April 27th 9:30 – 12:30 at Elk’s Lodge #8 on Klondike Lane. Come check it out.

The quality of singers was amazing, then later in the evening the rowdy not so great singers showed up. I think I like this group the best because the certainly know that it is all about having fun, but I gotta tell you…that first group was awesome!
